Past few months has seen an increase in activity of key stakeholders, regulators and industry. Just our standardisation activity took us from CEN TC352 meetings in Brussels to ISO TC229 in Singapore and back to London for ISO TC281 (Fine Bubble Technology).
Major development at ISO TC229 was the creation of a new working group (WG5) on "Products and Applications" by a resolution 23/2016. This opens a clear route for industry to participate in ISO TC229 work that already has Terminology, Characterisation, Health & Safety and Materials Specification working groups.
From major stakeholders, we have seen Germany and US formulating their nanotechnology vision. EU regulation of nanomaterials is in turmoil with ECHA in dispute with industry. A number of Nanomaterial-related articles made a good read. The most entertaining was the graphene diet of silkworms article. Some other news came from OCSiAl, NanoCo and RusNano.
